Dr. John C. Eastman is Founding Director of the Claremont Institute’s Center for Constitutional Jurisprudence; Senior Fellow of the Claremont Institute; and until January 2021 served as the Henry Salvatori Professor of Law & Community Service at Chapman University’s Dale E. Fowler School of Law.

From 1996 to 1997, he served as a law clerk with the Honorable Justice Clarence Thomas in the United States Supreme Court. After concluding his clerkships, Dr. Eastman took a position with Kirkland & Ellis in Los Angeles until 1999.

Upon leaving Kirkland & Ellis, Dr. Eastman began teaching at Chapman University where he served as Dean from 2007 to 2010. He also founded the Center for Constitutional Jurisprudence in 1999 and has served as its Director since that time.

Dr. Eastman has served as the chairman of the Federalist Society’s Federalism and Separation of Powers Practice Group and as the Chairman of the Board of the National Organization for Marriage. He is on the Advisory Board for the St. Thomas More Society of Orange County and St. Monica’s Academy. He has been recognized by Chapman University as Professor of the Year (2002) and for Faculty Excellence in Scholarly and Creative Activity (2013). Additionally, he received the St. Thomas More Award from Franciscan University (2010) and the J. Reuben Clark Award from the J. Reuben Clark Society of Orange County (2010).

The list of Todd Bensman’s accolades from his two-plus decade journalism career is long and impressive. Twice he won the National Press Club Award, and he’s the author of several well-received books.

Bensman is an expert on U.S. immigration policy and National Security issues, and he continues to file reports about this complex situation from our Southern border. He discusses his travels in media interviews, and he regularly writes editorials about the American immigration crisis. He is Senior National Security Fellow at the Center for Immigration Studies. His office is in Austin, Texas.

Arthur Coday, Jr., M.D. is a general practitioner of medicine with a special interest in cardiovascular and geriatric medicine. Dr. Coday graduated Magna Cum Laude with College Honors from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology. He graduated from Harvard Medical School, and while there co-authored a textbook chapter on heart failure. As a medical student, Dr. Coday, spent time on the cardiac surgery service at the Massachusetts General Hospital, spent a month on the cardiac surgery service at the Boston Children's Hospital, completed an elective in cardiology at the Brigham and Women's Hospital, and took an advanced basic science course in heart failure. Dr. Coday was a surgical resident at the Johns Hopkins and Virginia Mason hospitals where he spent a significant amount of time on the cardiac surgery services. Dr. Coday completed a two year post-doctoral fellowship in cardiovascular science funded by the National Institutes of Health at the Boston University School of Medicine where he studied cardiogenic shock in a rabbit model. In his private practice, Dr. Coday has cared for many patients with heart failure and he has cared for patients in nursing homes, including serving as the medical director for a very busy nursing home in Washington State.

What Really Happened on Jan 6?

Our October 9th Speaker is Reporter Joe Hanneman, an expert on what happened on January 6th.

He’s a newsman of the old stripe who gets his stories the hard way. He personally interviews witnesses, he takes personal statements, he looks at photos and videos, he attends hearings and interacts with anyone with information to share regarding the story he’s working on.

Joseph M. Hanneman is an investigative reporter for Blaze Media. He previously worked as a senior investigative reporter for The Epoch Times. He co-wrote and appeared in three Jan. 6-related documentaries, “The Real Story of Jan. 6 Part 2: the Long Road Home,” “Jan. 6 Tapes,” and “The Real Story of Jan. 6.” He previously wrote for the Wisconsin State Journal, the Racine Journal Times, and the Chicago Tribune.

Gordon G. Sam Faddis is a former U.S. Army combat arms officer and retired CIA ops officer who spent 20 years undercover in South Asia and the Middle East working against rogue states, terrorist groups and WMD smuggling networks. Prior to joining CIA, Sam was a U.S. Army Armor and JAG officer (Captain), and then served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Washington.

In 2002 Sam took the first CIA team into Iraq almost a full year in advance of the invasion of that country. After his retirement from CIA, he spent another ten years building and running complex training courses for operatives employed by NSA, DIA, DOE, military counterintelligence units and other components of the IC. He has also taught for a number of academic institutions including the University of Maryland, King College and Tulane University.

He is the author of seven books and the senior editor for AND Magazine, an online publication focused on national security issues. Faddis is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University and the University of Maryland School of Law.

REGISTRATION FOR THE MICHAEL SHELLENBERGER EVENT IS NOW CLOSED!

Author and journalist Michael Shellenberger is coming to WOW from Berkeley, California where he lives with his wife, Helen Lee and their two children. It’s also where he keeps his suitcases and where he periodically returns to refresh after traveling. He does a lot of traveling.

Shellenberger was born (1971) and raised in Colorado to Mennonite parents. He writes about politics, the environment, climate change and nuclear power. His work has won him high accolades. Shellenberger’s journalistic repertoire is wide. Lately, he has been in the news and in front of congressional hearings frequently. This visit with Tucker Carlson about the folly of climate change political policies is a great interview and a good introduction for us to Shellenberger.

Kimberley Strassel is a member of the editorial board for The Wall Street Journal. She writes editorials, as well as the weekly Potomac Watch political column.

Ms. Strassel joined Dow Jones & Co. in 1994, working in the news department of The Wall Street Journal Europe in Brussels, and then in London. She moved to New York in 1999 and soon thereafter joined the Journal's editorial page, working as a features editor, and then as an editorial writer. She assumed her current position in 2005.

Ms. Strassel, a 2014 Bradley Prize recipient, is a Fox News contributor and appears on the Sunday political shows. She is the author of two New York Times bestsellers: The Intimidation Game and Resistance (At All Costs).  Her newest book, The Biden Malaise: How America Bounces Back from Joe Biden's Dismal Repeat of the Jimmy Carter Years, is on shelves July 18.  She will be available to autograph your copy.

Biography

James O'Keefe is an American journalist and media innovator who uses undercover journalist footage and whistleblowers to create stories with his recognizable unconventional flair. He has founded three media organizations over his 15 year career.

In June 2016, British voters did vote to leave the EU. Even with that decision made, it fell to the political machinery of the Prime Minister to undertake the negotiations of the UK withdrawal. This remarkable political accomplishment earns Mr. Farage an important role in future history books, and he continues to be one of the most influential and inspiring figures in British politics today.

Following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, Britain now has a brand new Prime Minister as well as a new King. The European Union appears to be collapsing, and there are global financial and supply hardships everywhere. We are in historic times.

Mercedes Viana Schlapp is a prominent Latina national leader and a political media commentator. She is currently a Senior Fellow at the American Conservative Union Foundation and regularly hosts the online show America UnCanceled on CPAC NOW. She worked in The White House for two different presidential administrations in senior level positions. In 2017, Mercedes was Assistant to the President and Senior Advisor for Strategic Communications where she advised on messaging and served as one of the top communicators. She also developed and executed communication policy rollouts in coordination with the White House offices and the Cabinet. During President George W. Crime, Woke Prosecutors, and the Demise of the Rule of Law - How Do We Save America?

Matthew G. Whitaker was acting Attorney General of the United States (2018-2019).  Prior to becoming acting Attorney General, Mr. Whitaker served as Chief of Staff to the Attorney General. He was appointed as the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Iowa by President George W. Bush, serving from 2004-2009. Whitaker was the managing partner of Des Moines based law firm, Whitaker Hagenow & Gustoff LLP from 2009 until rejoining DOJ in 2017. He was also the Executive Director for FACT, The Foundation for Accountability & Civic Trust, an ethics and accountability watchdog, between 2014 and 2017. 

Mr. Whitaker is the author of the book--"Above the Law, The Inside Story of How the Justice Department Tried to Subvert President Trump".

Mr. Whitaker graduated with a Master of Business Administration, Juris Doctor, and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Iowa.  While at Iowa, Mr. Whitaker was a three-year letterman on the football team where he received the prestigious Big Ten Medal of Honor.

Christian Whiton is Senior Fellow at the Center for the National Interest, and a principal at DC International Advisory. Previously, Mr. Whiton was a State Department senior advisor during the Trump and George W. Bush administrations. He advised on public diplomacy, media, and East Asia issues. On the presidential transition, he served as the media advisor for the incoming Secretary of State and U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations during their Senate confirmations. 

Mr. Whiton was a member of the board of directors for Radio Free Europe, Middle East Broadcasting Networks, and Radio Free Asia. He has held communications and policy roles on several presidential campaigns. Outside of government, he has focused on trade, public affairs, corporate communications, and political risk analysis. He previously worked for the corporate finance practice of KPMG LLP. 

Mr. Whiton is the author of “Smart Power: Between Diplomacy and War” (Potomac Books), appears frequently on Fox Business and Fox News, is a Newsmax contributor, and has also appeared on BBC, CNBC, CNN, MSNBC, NHK, Sky News, and other networks.  His articles have been published by the Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Time, Daily Caller, National Interest, and numerous other publications. He edits “Super Macro” on Substack.
